Interactive solution set to revolutionise indoor exercise

One of the most exciting innovations that the fitness industry has seen in decades will be launched to the European fitness industry this week at FIBO 2016.

ebove™ is a unique training concept that combines exercise and gaming, allowing users to exercise anywhere, at any time, with anyone they choose. Incorporating real motion with socialisation and immersive visuals, the concept aims to deliver the most engaging, entertaining and realistic indoor exercise experience in the world.

Activetainment, the company behind ebove, will launch their first product, the ebove B\01 bike to fitness experts, innovators and opinion leaders at FIBO, one of the world’s biggest fitness trade shows. The company is attending FIBO to actively seek and appoint distribution partners from across the globe to market and sell their bikes.

Jan Arild Svello, Head of Business Development and Co-Founder of Activetainment, comments, “We’re really excited to be coming to Cologne to tell more people about our ebove concept and about our first product, the ebove bike.

“This is the first time we will have had the chance to demonstrate the bike to the European fitness industry, and we’re confident that people will see the potential that our bikes have to revolutionise how we exercise indoors.”

The B\01 bike aims to recreate the thrill and fun of outdoor biking, as every move is felt and experienced realistically, inside beautiful immersive visualisations of outdoor surroundings. The bike features moveable handlebars, brakes, gears and highly responsive incline and decline which responds to visualised terrain and gear resistance. The B\01 bike has been described as ‘the world's most awesome bike simulator’ and ‘the closest thing to trail biking ever seen’ by leading media outlets. It has already gained interest from consumers and media alike from around the world.

Activetainment hopes that the unique combination of gaming and exercise will also help to address the issue of boredom and motivation that so many experience in the gym. The bike will come with a range of pre-loaded tracks so riders will, for example, be able to ride a leg of the Tour de France or take a tour around Venice, from anyplace they choose, be it the gym, home, office or literally anywhere with an electricity supply. Riders will also be able to compete against others anywhere in the world in real time, as well as race their own ghost rider.

After an initial soft launch in Las Vegas at CES 2015, the ebove bike is now ready for pre-order in the Nordics, and will shortly be available in further regions.

Jan Arild adds, “Since we first demonstrated our bike to the public in 2015, we’ve received some incredible feedback. After a final development phase, we are now ready to show our bikes off to the fitness world, and we could have not picked a more perfect event than FIBO.

“We will be actively looking to meet and sign with distributors and partners over the four days, so we encourage anyone who would like to try something a bit different to come and see us. We promise you won’t be disappointed!”
